Close your eyes & imagine the best version of you possible. That’s who you really are, let go of any part of you that doesn’t believe it.”
— C. Assaad

Excellence can be achieved if you … risk more than others think is safe, love more than others think is wise, dream more than others think is practical, and expect more than others think is possible.

What Are You Made of?: Do the Work!

turbogirl:

So many people want change, growth, healthier relationships. But they don’t want to put in the work. If you want to run a marathon, you don’t just go out and run 26 miles. You have to train, every single day whether you want to or not. Lawyers don’t just become lawyers. They study thousands of…

YES!!!!

Men and women who achieve great things in life are invariably those who give a lot of thought to their own evolution and growth. They become exceptional people by design, not by accident.

I sure hope this is true.

For what it’s worth: it’s never too late to be whoever you want to be. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.

….in the end, you have to stop blaming everyone else and put it on yourself to be happy, because it is your life, and you have to make it through the hard times to get stronger.

While I feel good that I’m making progress, I really believe that my changing thought patterns are what is making this challenge so great. It’s really made me analyze what I want for myself in life and who I want to be (just by picking these four simple goals for myself this month). I have taken it a step farther and filled out the lululemon goal tender (per recommendation of The Fame) and took a long hard look at where I want to be in 1, 5, and 10 years from now.

Life is about creating yourself, not finding yourself. I’ve come to realize this month that you can’t wait for happiness to come to you. Get out there and find it! Make it happen for yourself!

I have started asking myself if the actions I am taking are helping me reach my goals. This is especially important if I don’t feel like working out or working in general. When I tell myself that once I’m done I’ll be one step closer to where I want to be, I can usually convince myself to do what I need to do.

So thank you, Theresa, for starting this challenge and helping us all get on the right track to happiness and health!

At one point in your life you’ll either have the thing you want or the reasons why you don’t.

This could not be more true. I have finally found the reasons why I don’t, so it is time to turn thins around and get the things that I want!

Progress always involves risk. You can’t steal second base and keep your foot on first.

I can’t think of a more perfect quote to have come across — it summarizes the life lesson I learned today perfectly. I took some risks over the past few weeks (without even know I was doing so) in an effort to work through several personal issues I was having, failed multiple times, suffered the emotional consequences, and spent a lot of time beating my head against the wall (not literally) wondering why do things have to be this way for me, until I finally figure it out. I would have never figured it out though had I not persisted after my goals and put myself out there.

Chocolate Avocado Banana Pudding by The Edible Perspective
[serves 2-4]
2 avocados, ripe
2 medium bananas, ripe
6-8T unsweetened cocoa powder
1t vanilla extract
1t cinnamon
1.5 scoops Raw protein powder [opt]
In a food processor, combine the avocado + banana and process until smooth.  Scrape down the sides of bowl as necessary.
Add the cocoa powder, vanilla, cinnamon, and protein powder [if using].  Process again until smooth.
Refrigerate until ready to serve and add any topping you like.
Store in a sealed container and eat within 2-3 days.
notes:  If you want a thinner consistency, add your favorite milk, starting with 1T at a time.  Do not use frozen bananas.  The riper the banana, the sweeter and stronger the flavor will be.  If you don’t like banana, feel free to sub in a squash puree [drained of excess liquid].  Add honey or maple syrup if desired.  An immersion blender should also work for this.
